ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Prepares, executes, revises and measures progress on the Continuous Improvement Plan targeted at AOP and performances programs / initiatives. Facilitates continuous improvement intervention & employee involvement throughout the plant and cooperatively with Engineering and Procurement within the supply community; may support other related sites and organizations. Identifies opportunities to implement common processes & best demonstrated practices from other sites and businesses; disseminates and acts upon relevant industry and corporate benchmarking data. Once the project is identified, establishes cross functional team. Assures that process improvements and benefits employ visual management and that actions are driven to closure and sustained while being made visual to stakeholders. Assures that predicted savings are tracked, validated and posted to the plant’s operating results. Provides leadership, coaching and training in lean thinking and lean production, variation reduction, problem solving & avoidance and people / team strategies. Updates plant and corporate management on project status. Prepares report upon completion of the projects. QUALIFICATIONS Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or similar. Successful completion of needed Lean Leader training modules, or structured development plan for same; prior exposure to and use of Lean Production tools (such as Toyota Production System, or equivalent) and/or Six Sigma tools helpful. Position Summary:Lead teams of Assistant Managers, Group Leaders, and Team Leaders in an automotive manufacturing environment to meet and exceed company goals and objectives. Responsible for monitoring Safety, Quality, Cost, and Productivity with daily improvement activities.

Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.

Administer the quality control program for the Tuscaloosa plant to ensure that all products produced are consistent with the specifications for that product as described in the Plant Quality Assurance Manual.
Take responsibility for the Plant Quality Assurance Manual by ensuring that it is kept current, factual and in compliance with the company Quality Control Program.
Must be prepared to explain any portion of the quality program to any party conducting a quality audit.
Assume responsibility for the plant laboratory such that the laboratory is capable of providing all test data required to ensure product quality as described in the Plant Quality Assurance Manual.
Provide for the acquisition, storage and availability of all laboratory test equipment and supplies necessary for the operation of the plant laboratory.

Provide for the acquisition, storage and availability of all safety equipment and supplies necessary for the safe operation of this plant.
Maintain and distribute as necessary all data, records and reports required by plant, corporate and governmental or insuring agencies.
Provide materials, data and direction for the plant safety training program.
Administer the purchasing and warehousing program for the Tuscaloosa plant to ensure that purchasing and warehousing practices are consistent with corporate and plant policies.
Provide for the acquisition, storage, availability and inventory of maintenance repair materials and operating supplies necessary for the operation of this plant.
Maintain and distribute as necessary all data, records and reports required by plant, governmental or insuring agencies.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
